About
I have been 'geeky' since the days of my first computer, a Commodore 64. This was back in the late 1980's. As computers became more popular there were many broken ones to tinker with, so thats what I did. Since about 1992 just about every computer I owned came from a dumpster, others were passed down. I would get the computers working and either keep them or give them to friends, it is just something I have always done. Since moving to the midwest there are less dumpsters to find computers in, so I have gotten to know many of the computer part vendors around the country.
My training in computer building/repair came from fixing computers people gave up all hope on along with a few bloody knuckles and a shock or two along the way (I now keep my fingers out of them when they are on). I have refined that self taught education with a lot of reading, research and being that other computer guy that fixes computers (even laptops) in his basement.
In Hawarden, Iowa I found that many people had computer issues, and in a small town word spreads fast. I have heard many horror stories from many people regarding computer repair in the area. So I figure if I take some big leaps and offer my geekness to a wider venue so others out there won't have to live through those horror stories themselves.
So there it is, the "About" page, I hope you enjoyed it. Not many people read the "About" page of a website, thank you for visiting.
